After leading a Daisy troop for 2 years, I've bridged all of my girls to Brownie. I love the Daisies so much though, that I've decided to lead another troop. I found that my girls really wanted to complete their flower before they bridged, so we did Petals the first year and Journeys the second.
As I get ready to start my 1st year Daisies, I put the petal work into a plan so that I'd have a roadmap to get the girls through all of their petals in the first year. Remember that with Daisies, it will save you a lot of stress to be flexible. Rigidly sticking to a plan doesn't always work, as there are things that will take them more time/less time, and they should lead most of the activities. I've had the best experiences with my girls when I give very little direction and then stand back to watch where they take it. The lesson plan is attached.
