STEM Club at Flandrau Science Center.

Our STEM Club girls wanted to thank the Flandrau Science Center for allowing them to meet there every week.  After talking to some of the staff the girls learned that the science center would be having a day camp and needed some help getting their youngest room ready for campers. The girls helped with turning an old storage room in to a bright new classroom by cleaning and painting the wall. The girls had an awesome time helping with this as it was many of their first times painting a room.

STEM Club meets every other Thursday during the Summer and weekly during the school year. The club consists of girls Juniors and up who love doing hands on Science, Engineering, Technology and Math activities. In the past the girls have worked with the Girl Scout guinea pig, Gordon, and trained him to go through a maze. They also get to explore the Flandrau Science Muesum, and interact with volunteers and guest speakers from the university. IF you are interested in learning more about how your daughter can join STEM club contact Kat at ksalthouse@girlscoutssoaz.org or 520.319.3181. Summer STEM Club dates are May 29th, June 12th and 26th, July 10th and 24th from 6-7pm at the Flandrau Science Center.
